This blog will be a year older next week. Funny, but I used to have this sort of love-hate relationship with my blog. Maybe because that time, I was still groping my way around as a newbie in the blogosphere.
I used to be quite uncomfortable writing down my personal thoughts and ideas. Sometimes, I post something and regret doing it days later. I felt they were just too personal and should have been confined to my journal instead. There was even a time when I thought about shutting down this blog. Maybe it’s because I am used to keeping a lot of things to myself. I don’t know how other bloggers feel about this, but for me, there’s this weird feeling of vulnerability yet at the same time putting out my thoughts in the open actually gives me a different sense of freedom.
Later on, as I gained more confidence and met some wonderful blogsy friends, I learned that as a blogger, I can never be totally anonymous to the online world - the more I blog, the more I am revealing bits and pieces of myself. As somebody once told me, it is quite a dangerous virtual online world out there. But then again, isn’t it the same in the real physical world too?
In a way, blogging brings with it some risks – you risk being criticized and passed judgment on by people who read your thoughts and ideas. But the sweetest and most rewarding thing that blogging brings is knowing that there are others who respect and value us no matter who we are, they sincerely empathize and identify with our thoughts, feelings and ideas. For me, this is one of the reasons why I would never regret that day when I decided to blog.
To all my dear readers and blogsy friends, my heartfelt thanks.
Never be afraid to show the world who you are. Risks are everywhere. And, by blogging, its true that you somehow expose yourself to the public.
I was once reprimanded by a friend who was caught lying because of my blogpost. Sigh. I’m only sorry I was too honest. Niweyz…
Blogging is one way of reaching out to many people at once. Its all about.. you might be of help to somebody (if not everybody). I think that alone is a happy feeling. That is also why I keep blogging.
Some of the bravest bloggers (whose posts I often read) got death threats, but its not really a matter of virtual war, but a way of being transparent and cultivating other people’s minds too.
Too much blah..
you take care, and enjoy blogging!

Aww, look at our little carey, she looks so grown up. *sniff, sniff*
Hehehe.
Just remember that people will write stuff about themselves that they think is okay to bring out into the open. No one can really know who you are unless, they have known you for a long time.
No need for gratitude, your articles are an enjoyable read.
