Little scientist

April 28, 2007

R-vinMy nephew R-vin is a scientist wannabe. He loves watching the Discovery channel and is interested in reading things related to science. He also loves tinkering with some assembly of kits for robots, planes, cars and other stuff. I was quite amused when he even told my cutie sis that he wants to study in Harvard. Wow… I don’t know where he got that idea. I think his imagination will run wild when he discovers this site for fun educational science toys, Sciencekits.com. It is a cool online site for science enthusiasts like him with categories ranging from science kits, chemistry, robot kits, to electricity and electronics and lots more.

Having science educational toys at home is a big help for parents in cultivating the interest for learning in their kids. There are some products that I think R-vin would like to tinker with. There’s ‘Our Amazing Bridges’ from the Science Project kits where he can build a bridge made of logs or rocks, or assemble modern suspension bridges. The kit lets you start by making a simulated river landscape and a modern ‘steel’ truss bridge with plastic I-beams and gussets. This product would give him a good idea about his Dad’s work as a structural engineer.

The MiniLabs science kits are smaller projects which he can experiment with his inquisitive brain. The Solar Energy kit would surely help young minds like him to be ecology-conscious. The kit includes a complete lab with solar collector, solar heater, energy focusing lens, thermometer - and more than 25 energy conservation science experiments.

Browsing through the site is like stepping into the world of kids, science, experiments and curiosity. It sure would be fun to be a kid again. R-vin, can I play with you? hehehe;)

wow! ganahan gyud sha ana. good training for scientist-wanna-be or engineer-wanna-be. at least he doesn’t have to take apart appliances like elder bro used to do when he was still a curious little kid.

Wow! The idea is totally great! This will definitely push a kid towards his ’scientific’ ambition! ;)

Galing! :)

Raine: ows? hehehe…
yeahh… i wish i played with stuff like that too.
i think it’s OK to play with it…after all, the kids would usually ask help from adults when doing it.

I’m just another simple soul inhabiting the blogosphere, writing about the bits and pieces of my life, sharing my thoughts and reflections on life’s journey… these are what I fondly call my ideas in pink.

Ideas are powerful. A train of thought can make or break, build or destroy. The choice is ours. Our ideas become our future. I believe that life’s meaningful lessons are best learned when shared with others.
