Mailbox blahs

September 3, 2007

Christmas season is almost here. September starts the series of months ending with ‘ber’ and before we even notice it, the holidays are here again. I won’t be surprised if I hear Christmas songs being played on the radio these days.

So, most people are expecting some gifts and packages in their mailboxes soon. Well, isn’t it nice to receive something in your mailbox from the post office? ;)

Actually, we don’t have a mailbox here at home yet, and I have been looking for some nice ones for our gate, but haven’t found any at the malls that suits my fancy. I found a good one over the web though, an antique looking Salsbury standard letter mail slot with a spring-loaded flap at the front. It would be perfect for some letters, greeting cards, magazines and yes, the bills. It looks sturdy enough not to be tampered by the bad guys.

There are many other stylish residential mailboxes and high security commercial mailboxes I’ve browsed over at mailboxixchange.com. I like some of them especially the Coronado Sand with polished brass accent (photo above) and the Bacova Gardens Strongbox, but these are post mount mailboxes which are not suitable for our home though. Anyway, with or without mailbox, I can still receive some holiday greetings, right? ;)
