I’m just not feeling good today.
Maybe I feel so stressed out or tired but the last straw broke when somebody gave an insinuating remark, and I snapped back a sarcastic reply. I admit that remark gave me something negative to think about myself, I even had trouble getting a nap afterwards. It just added up to the pile of miserable emotions in me. Later in the afternoon, I decided to just walk on my way to church. It’s a way for me to sort out my thoughts, taking a fifteen-minute walk alone amidst the smoke-belching vehicles, while stepping on puddles and muddy streets. Inside the church, I chose a seat in the corner of a pew and sat down feeling tired and bothered.
“In all circumstances, give thanks,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:18)
I felt my tears roll down as the lector read this verse. Despite the seemingly bad day and mood I had, those uplifting words just pierced through my soul.
Gratefulness, this is the message of today’s gospel. I realize I have so many things to be thankful for. My worries and hurts are just minute matters compared to God’s greater plans for me. I have so many concerns, lots of unanswered questions, but once again, I place my trust in His hands.
One of the advantages of e-commerce is the comfort of having things you purchased online delivered to you with just few mouse clicks. When I first did an online transaction I was a bit worried it won’t go through, but thankfully it did, and when the product was delivered by courier weeks after, my fears about this system were dispelled. Nowadays online shopping is as easy, secure and reliable as ever, though you still have to watch out for a lot of online frauds.
