Sleepy on the road

January 16, 2009

It’s been a long drive from another province to our destination with our belongings all stuffed at the back of the truck. I could still remember the many tiring days of preparation before we moved back to our hometown. Sorting out all our accumulated things was just so stressful. We had to decide what to keep, what to throw away and what to give. There were some things that we had to let go even if they had some sentimental value.
The moving truck came at about midnight as the driver and his two assistants loaded up our stuff at the back. It was almost dawn as we started the long journey on the road that would take us to the barge, a shipping vessel where the truck was carried. Early the next day, the barge arrived on land, and off it continued its journey.

We were cruising along the highway as I drowsily laid my head back to rest when suddenly the truck stopped a bit. The driver murmured something and I got it that he almost fell asleep! Yikes. Other than that, the long drive going home was uneventful. I would never forget that day we moved out from our apartment with all the inconveniences yet feeling excited of finally coming home.

For those who will be moving to another place and hiring a company to take care of the dirty job of packing, storing, transporting and unpacking, it’s always important to look for reliability. For instance, a Boston moving company such as Humboldt Storage and Moving considers their job as a big responsibility and provides special care of their clients’ things. No sleepy drivers from them I bet! :)

about me

I’m just another simple soul inhabiting the blogosphere, writing about the bits and pieces of my life, sharing my thoughts and reflections on life’s journey… these are what I fondly call my ideas in pink.

Ideas are powerful. A train of thought can make or break, build or destroy. The choice is ours. Our ideas become our future. I believe that life’s meaningful lessons are best learned when shared with others.
