Are You Prepared?

April 28, 2009

For a change, I’d like to share what I’ve read from Bo Sanchez in his Soulfood Newsletter:

One day, a guy calls up his Boss at home, but gets the boss’ wife instead. She said, “I’m sorry, but he died last week.” The next day, the man calls up again and asks for his boss. She said, “I told you, he died last week.” The third day, the guy calls up again and asks for his boss. The wife was mad and shouted, “Don’t you understand? I already told you twice—MY HUSBAND, YOUR BOSS, DIED LAST WEEK! Why do you keep on calling?” The guy laughed and said, “Because I just love hearing it…” (end of quote)

The above story could be funny and yet the attitude of the guy mirrors most of the disgruntled employees waiting for some luck to come their way so they could be happier with their careers. Instead of doing something about their situation such as changing jobs or trying a different career, some employees felt trapped and think they really have no choice.

Anyway, the story also tells us the harsh reality of how sudden death could come – any time. And we should be prepared for this eventuality. For me personally, I’d like to state here that spiritual readiness is a priority. After this however, life insurance is a wise decision to be financially equipped. It’s a complicated matter which could be made easy by comparing insurance plans with instant
online term life insurance quotes from websites such as ReliaQuote.

The bottom line of insurance is income replacement. The family standard of living is considered here, and other factors such as whether the surviving spouse has an income of her own, or is her retirement to be considered, or if the children are still depending on parents for their own needs, such as education, etc. A person then has to choose a company that can reliably service the needs of whoever he is to protect, and there’s a wide choice of top-rated insurance companies available for comparison.

about me

I’m just another simple soul inhabiting the blogosphere, writing about the bits and pieces of my life, sharing my thoughts and reflections on life’s journey… these are what I fondly call my ideas in pink.

Ideas are powerful. A train of thought can make or break, build or destroy. The choice is ours. Our ideas become our future. I believe that life’s meaningful lessons are best learned when shared with others.
