Business matters: Going after late-paying clients

June 4, 2010

When we still had our family business on computer training, we really don’t have difficulties asking for the bill from our clients for computer rental and services as they promptly pay at the cashier. There was one incident though when a user just left her personal item instead of paying in cash after using the computer for hours.

When it comes to our computer seminars however, we would find it a challenge to bill our clients especially those participants from government agencies as we had to go through so many offices and processes in order for the check to be finally ready for pick up. I also remember one participant who still hasn’t paid for his training and we got all sorts of alibis from him, we even had a hard time contacting him in his office.

It’s really tough to go after late-paying clients. It’s a waste of time, money and effort when you spend all your energy “chasing” them. This is also bad for small businesses that rely on their income to support operating expenses.

Well, if your business is facing the same challenges on non-paying clients, it’s best to get help from a collection agency such as American Profit Recovery or APR. Their method of managing delinquent clients is by diplomacy, so businesses keep their relationships with their clients as a result. Utilizing a low-cost fee structure, APR handles debt collection with a success rate that’s more than traditional collection agencies, thus increasing profitability for their clients, helping them recover bad debt and manage past due accounts.

about me

I’m just another simple soul inhabiting the blogosphere, writing about the bits and pieces of my life, sharing my thoughts and reflections on life’s journey… these are what I fondly call my ideas in pink.

Ideas are powerful. A train of thought can make or break, build or destroy. The choice is ours. Our ideas become our future. I believe that life’s meaningful lessons are best learned when shared with others.
