These days I am getting excited about some investment opportunities coming up in the stock market. The only thing that’s keeping my excitement from rising is the fact that I don’t really have the budget for investing. Boohoo. Well, I’m still having hopes though that I can find a way to grab the opportunity on the first week of October.

My bro recently applied for a Smart Money card as his business income is being sent through this mode. There’s a bit of a problem though, he’s based abroad. That means he can’t easily make transactions on his mobile phone with a Smart Money chip. Yes, he can withdraw from ATMs abroad with the Cirrus logo but it’s a bit costly for him at Php200 per transaction.
Thus, we’re hoping money transfers can be made via internet banking between a BPI savings account and a Smart Money card. I am still reading the BPI and Smart Money websites if this is possible and I plan to visit the business centers of both establishments to inquire about this.
Any experience with Smart Money and BPI express online money transfers? Please do share in the comments section. It would be such a big help! Thanks!
If you’re a parent with your baby or toddler being fed through milk bottle, then here’s an important safety information for you – make sure that the feeding bottles are free from BPA or Bisphenol A. The said chemical is dangerous and banned for use in plastic containers nowadays. Most countries have already made precautionary moves regarding the ban of BPA, not just from baby bottles but from food containers and other plastic items as well. Thus, we’re all encouraged to check the labels of plastic products bought, especially food containers. Just make sure they’re BPA-free.
Yesterday we were at the mall and yes, the Christmas trees are on sale as early as this month. It made us think about putting up our own tree here at home as well. My sis said it’s too early yet but some people just want to have that festive Christmas mood nowadays. With some folks starting their Christmas countdown as early as now, I won’t be surprised if some are also making their Christmas shopping lists, noting down some gift ideas for their loved ones and friends.
Anyway, Christmas shopping or not, the tech savvy can always rely on their favorite shopping world, the Internet. There are so many options for online shopping, whether you buy directly from your favorite online merchant or login to eBay or some social networking site.

Going into business as a way to financial freedom has been a goal for some, especially those who are employed. Well, it has also been my goal after I decided to go back to my home country and help in our family ventures. When one decides to do things on his own, there’s no looking back especially when the going gets really tough.
For some people, being a business owner sounds too challenging and risky. There’s also the dilemma of what business to go into, deciding on a business that is related to your interests and passion or going into a business that’s more lucrative? So, which is which? For those who are into music, they can go into events and concerts production. Those who are into computers can open internet cafes or go into trading of computer hardware and accessories.
It’s a pretty hectic week for me and I need to do a lot of online work so I can enjoy more time offline in the coming days. Having an internet-based work keeps me connected to the web always but there are other online activities and stuff I find useful other than my job. First off, there’s online banking which some banks fondly label as ebanking. With this tool, I really am thankful that I was able to do some errands quickly at home. Yup, I paid our phone and internet bill online few days ago and what a relief it was, not having to line up in a payment center to pay your bills.
Another online activity I love doing is encoding some business transactions for repeat sales or new accounts. This takes just few seconds and you can immediately see your earnings recorded after the transactions. And then there’s e-commerce, ordering from online merchants after browsing for clothes or some favorite items with just few mouse clicks. Window shopping online is one of my favorite hobbies, it’s fun to easily search for what you need, just go to your favorite online merchant and key in some relevant search terms and presto – a black tote bag or baby pink nail polish – and you’re done.
Vitamin A is an essential vitamin which is very much needed for important metabolic functions such as vision, disease immunity, good skin condition, as an antioxidant and other biological functions. Thus, Vitamin A deficiency should be avoided as this is the cause of blindness of some children in developing countries.
Just don’t go overboard when taking Vitamin A though because unlike other water-soluble vitamins like B and C, Vitamin A is fat-soluble, thus one has to take it in the recommended dosage only – about 600 to 900 μg/day for adults. Too much Vitamin A can cause toxicity with side effects such as headaches, nausea, hair loss, and even mental instability… ewww… just reading about these side effects can be alarming!

Another online stuff that makes me happy is getting great deals from sales, promos, or discount coupons. An online purchase with a slashed down price is like the sun coming out on a cloudy day. LOL. It just makes online shopping even sweeter, yeah? And whenever there’s a promo alert, I would readily inform my family about it. I love sharing some good news on shopping deals too. My friends would also email or send us messages about new promos especially on shopping and travel.

We’ve been planning for so long to renovate some two major parts of our house – the garage and the old kitchen. We’ve already decided to turn the old kitchen to a separate unit, sort of a studio type accommodation, with one bedroom, toilet and bath, small kitchen, living and dining areas. For the garage, we plan to transform it into an office with seminar/training room. Well, these are just plans which still needs major chunk of budget, yeah? Other than the finances, another important factor that’s holding us back is time. Oh well, let’s see about that in the next months if our renovation plans would materialize.

Learning from a beauty school is not just about haircutting, hair styling, nail care or makeup application and the likes. There are other important things to know about the business of beauty, such as professional image, salon management and retailing. All these can be studied as a serious profession particularly for those who are passionate about making a career in the cosmetology industry.

I’m sure most of us would like to experience a tropical island cruise vacation, with the allure of white sandy beaches and blue sea waters on a sunny day. And one tropical destination to dream about is Fiji in the South Pacific, with its more than three hundred islands and islets, offering a unique cultural experience amidst stunning beaches.
Aside from soaking in the beach or talking a walk in the shores, guests can also do shopping on the islands for handicrafts and souvenirs in the local markets, or experience Fijian culture with the well-known Yaqona (kava) ceremony along with the local songs and dances. Guests can also visit the villages or stroll along the orchid gardens.

Nowadays, people are very much informed when it comes to their rights in pursuing claims for injury or property damage as a result of business operations. For instance, passengers in a bus accident, a sick customer claiming to have consumed spoiled food in a restaurant or dissatisfied clients of a utility company, can pursue legal claims for liability to loss or damage. Thus, one of the many important things a business needs to protect their company’s interests is getting a liability insurance.

It’s not just enough to set a goal when you want to do your best and win an upcoming game. While positive thinking helps to motivate oneself, preparing and practicing for the game is more important. Yup it’s true, practice makes perfect! The more you practice properly with the help of a good coach or trainer, the better. Students who top their class know this. Athletes abide by this rule. Successful people are products of constant practice and hard work, not just by their sheer determination in reaching their goals.

Yesterday, I had a short chat with a friend on Yahoo! Messenger and our topic was about financial matters, especially the future. He was quite happy with his investment on stocks which gave favourable results. I’m happy for him as well. He also encouraged me to start investing on stocks too and join the group he is with. I’m planning to do that soon. I realized I shouldn’t have opened another savings account but used the money for stocks instead.

Last weekend we had a day out, we went to SM mall for some shopping…and we got company, the kids! How would you like to have a three-year old active girl and a seven-month old baby tagging along with you as you go over the aisles, flipping through the clothes racks, and trying out some picks? Tsk, it was actually a rollercoaster as we had to stop the little girl from running all around the aisles playfully letting us chase her. And the baby sometimes would cry for attention in his stroller.
Oh well, good thing that sis got to buy some clothes and accessories at discounted prices as the mall had an ongoing sale. SM Advantage members get Php100 off for a minimum purchase of Php1000 with their SM Advantage card. At least, our day at the mall was not in vain.

Whew, what a busy day it has been! And it was really productive and well-spent too; a combination of work, family and shopping was the name of the game. Now that I’m here in front of my laptop, I can feel the tiredness in my legs. I realize I have been walking a lot the whole day and it really put so much stress on my feet. I’m just thankful that there’s the Internet for me to travel around virtually without me getting too tired and stressed. I’m thankful for the convenience brought about by e-commerce, online lessons, social networking, instant messages and quick searches.

Generally, numismatics is about the study and collection of coins and other currency forms. For those who are into this endeavour, knowing more about the history of a numismatic item is essential particularly if one is planning to purchase, whether as a hobby or for investment reasons. The numismatic value or collector value usually depends on the rarity of the item. These are considered as solid assets as their value increase with time.

Last month, we decided to have a weekend getaway just within the city, at the subdivision where my cutie sis purchased a lot, the Pacific Shores subdivision.
Here’s how the place looks like…

Such a peaceful view, isn’t it?
We called up the Pacific Shores office the day before to arrange for our day’s stay, so the guard at the gate immediately let us in. We only had to pay for the cottage rental since my sis is one of the subdivision lot owners.
The kids had a great time at the pool, while we enjoyed our lunch of grilled pork and dried fish. Despite the cloudy weather and slight drizzle, it was such a relaxing day for us, spending time with family while having a great view of the beach.
I used to work for a telecommunications firm before and I could say that I had a great time with my job as a quality control engineer and preparing our company’s technical standards. Aside from doing site inspection and checking on field equipment and installation, I also spend a lot of time in the office doing research. I had to keep up with the latest standards and practices in the field of telecommunications. It’s quite a challenge to do research when it comes to technological advancement.
Our suppliers are also a big help as they keep us informed of the latest innovation and provide seminars for our engineers as well as letting us visit their production plant. Some product suppliers would also provide technical documents and other relevant articles which were really useful in my research work.

Are you one of those who have invested in real estate properties for future gain? I’ve known some friends who have shelled out their hard earned salaries and invested in lots and properties and it’s good to know that the units they’ve purchased have already increased in value. For the financially wise, investing for the coming years is a good decision as one needs to have a solid economic future.
