Managing one’s finances can be a tough task. Most singles who are used to handling their own personal budget can attest to this. However, if you’re running a household of five, or even more, with kids still in school and lots of house bills to keep up, handling the family budget can be even tougher. Financial management really requires a lot of focus and self-discipline so that the required budget is met, whether you’re doing it for the family or as a single.
Another financial concern for a single or a family is protecting one’s home from accidental losses or damages. Thus, most families get a home insurance to cover for the expenses in case such misfortunes happen. Most home insurance policies assist their clients and provide coverage not just for the building but the contents as well.

Most of my friends are not very familiar about the technical details of webhosting even if they do have their own blogs already. Usually, my techie bro do the domain registration and blog installation for them, all they do is just provide the domain name, the blog title, username and other basic requirements. Going deeper into webhosting technicalities can be time-consuming especially if you don’t have the patience for it and you simply lack the interest.

I have so many dream destinations in mind. Just browsing over all the amazing photos on tourist destinations, I would readily think of my fairy godmother waving her wand to take me there.
So how about spending a week in Rio de Janeiro and Iguassu Falls in Brazil? Just looking at the amazing photo above would make me wish I’m on top of Corcovado Mountain and just done climbing the famous Christ the Redeemer statue which is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The breathtaking Iguassu Falls is another tourist spot in Brazil, another must-visit site.

Such an eye-catching title, but no, it’s not me who will be walking down the aisle soon. It’s actually my cousin whom we have been telling many moons ago to marry his long time girlfriend of more than ten years. Sounds funny but true. Anyway, we’re just happy that finally he’s decided to settle down.
I’ve seen my cousin and his wife-to-be very busy these days with the wedding preparations which will be happening next month already. I’m very sure they already have been talking with the reception manager, the cake shop, the official photographer and videographer, the celebrating priests, the sponsors and other important guests.

Just this evening, we stopped by at a gasoline station to fuel up. There was a bit of delay in the credit card processing but after few minutes it was successfully processed. The gasoline boy had to press the cable of the equipment so it would function properly. I hope their branch manager would care to check on their credit card machines so they won’t be delaying their customers. For business owners offering credit card processing, it would be best to regularly check their equipment and upgrade if possible or replace with new equipment instead.

It’s been few years already that I bought a domain at GoDaddy. I still haven’t transferred it to a webhosting provider though. It’s just there waiting for me to take action, but I am not doing anything about it yet as I am saving up for a three-year hosting plan which would really make a dent on my budget. The domain will expire in about six months but as early as now, I get a regular reminder from GoDaddy to renew it with a discount. It’s quite tempting as I have their coupon code staring at me in their nth email.

There are many reasons why people get so anxious and stressed these days, from family and relationship problems to career challenges and even exciting major events.

A good way to release such negative vibes therapeutically is by getting a really good massage. Yes! Massages promote better health with its many benefits such as relieving pain and stress, boosting the immune system and improving blood circulation among other things. One of the main elements of getting massages is the essence of touch which translates to being cared for.

My friend dropped by this lunch before heading off to the airport for her flight back to Manila. I noticed that her face looked tan or darker than the usual. It turned out she and her family had a beach outing few days ago. Even her three year old son, who used to be fair skinned, is now sporting a dark tan. My friend is complaining about the sunburn on her face though, which made it itchy and flaky. Oh well, that’s because they stayed too long in the waters even if it was cloudy.
Personally, when it comes to beach and outdoor activities, I usually don’t venture out on the waters and the shores between 10 AM to 4 PM when the sun is at its peak. According to skin cancer experts, one should limit sun exposure especially during midday. In case one has to be outdoors, an umbrella, hat or sunglasses (with UV filters) should be used.

No matter what our talents, skills and resources are, big or small, we are always given the opportunity to share them with others. It is quite inspiring when we see somebody starting a project to help less fortunate kids in school or organizing a group outreach in the rural areas.
One of my friends did her own small way of making a difference in the lives of others, with her project of donating pencils and pens for school kids by asking for contributions from friends. It is now a recurring project and well-participated by her friends in some parts of the country. The success of her project is just one of those proofs that one doesn’t need big resources to help others, all it takes is just the passion and willingness to share.

Few years ago, there was a major road accident in our city involving more than two vehicles and a motorcycle. There were two crazy guys on a drag race along the highway late evening hitting three vehicles and a motorcycle. Unfortunately the motorcycle driver died instantly since he was violently thrown off. The other drivers were injured. Yup, sadly motorcycle driving is riskier as its driver is more vulnerable and directly in contact with outside elements as compared to being inside a car. Motorcycles are also smaller in size and are no match to the bigger vehicles when they are side by side on the road.

I haven’t been shopping for sunblocks lately, so I’m sort of surprised to read an article about many products nowadays in the market offering high sun protection factor (SPF) ratings. I’m familiar with SPF 15 or 25, but SPF 100? Wow, that must be an extremely potent product that could shield your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays. However, according to a skin expert, no SPF product really offers 100% protection. For best results when using sunscreens, one needs to reapply every two hours especially when you’re outdoors.

Yesterday I was so busy doing research for webhosting packages to host my future online ventures. My main deciding factors in choosing a web hosting are the features, price and customer support. I have at least three on my final list but decided on the one that offer all the features I need. The package I chose was not a cheap one but I found out some coupon codes and rebates to use for it, so I will surely get a lot of discount. Well, I still haven’t purchased the webhosting subscription yet. I am still waiting for some payments to come, so hopefully by the end of this week my new website will be up and running.

While most of the elderly battle with problems of diabetes, focusing on decreasing sugar intake in their diet, there is another health crisis that should be looked into, and this is too much salt. Throughout the years, the medical cases concerning heart diseases have been increasing, even with younger adults. According to one health article I just read, salt is the new sugar.
Personally, this only means that one should not focus on just one aspect of his diet but consider other factors as well. We might be sufficient with some nutrients and lacking in other dietary needs. This is why too much of everything is not good and a balanced diet is really a must.

Are you into sports and outdoor recreation? Do you hit the gym at least twice a week and engage in active sports tournaments? I find it quite admirable to see some folks out there who are very much into anything athletic. Personally, this is what I need to improve on, being actively involved in any sports. I have a cousin who’s very much into running and going to the gym regularly. It’s good that her hubby also shares the same interest in sports and fitness activities.

Sometimes one builds a blog site just for self expression, a place to share one’s ideas and thoughts, rants and raves and whatnots. The option of monetizing it, or earning an income from it, oftentimes does not matter at the start. Later on, however, as one’s blog readership grows, the thought of advertising and sponsorship comes in. This is what happened to my cousin who had his guitar blog hosted on a free subdomain platform. Now he is planning to put up some ads on it, but unfortunately it is against the TOS of the site. Thus, he is now thinking of moving his content to his own domain and webhosting site.
